This team is 11-1. I am just blown away, its unreal. This was a much needed win for the guys to get their mind off of things.

I think what Talbot will bring to this team behind the scenes long term will be huge for us.

I am really loving this team right now.

I missed watching this game. How was Varly looking all night? Were any of the two goals his fault? And how was Talbot looking?

Varly was very solid. Talbot played great on the PK and Mackinnon looked to be moving in the right direction.

Varly looked solid. Both Dallas goals were very good shots on their part. If anything, the Avs need to pick up the pace when they have the lead. They seem to sit back when they have the lead and it resulted in some good chances for Dallas. Talbot looked great. Seemed to open up space for MacKinnon who had a nice assist on Landy's goal. Getting McGinn back will really help as I don't think Mitchell is a 3rd line guy. Talbot was really strong on the PK as advertised. Once McLeod and McGinn are back in the lineup I think we'll get a better look from the bottom two lines. We seem to sit back when we're in the lead and that needs to change. We're a fast paced team but we seem to lose that edge when we are ahead. Solid win after a bad third period. Good to see us coming away with the 2 points despite blowing a 2 goal lead in the 3rd. Interesting to see how we respond in back to back games tomorrow night vs the Habs.

I was there and had so much fun. Drank too much to really evaluate everyones game. Only had to stick up for varly twice. Maybe 10 fans started chanting "Goalie beats his wife. Goalie beats his wife." and I just turned around and was like "HEY!...."

Shouldn't have trouble with any more opposing fans for the rest of the year. You're welcome.

I think the Avs sit back after they score a few because they are that confident in their Dzone play to keep up the lead and win the game. Avs are the #1 defense in the league for a reason. Avs have only given up more than 2 goals once this year so I have no problem with it.

Also Mitchell is a great player and can absolutely play on the 3rd line. He would have had a goal in this game if not for the Save of the year by the stars goalie. I'd be fine seeing him and Talbot switching off between 4th and 3rd line duties.

Between Mcginn, Mitchell, Mcleod and now Talbot the Avs bottom 6 is legit.

You certainly make a good point. If not for that snag by Lehtonen we'd have been up 3-1. While I see why we sit back with the lead, to me IMHO, it's not a way to sustain success.

What I mean to say is that the strategy of sitting back and letting the opposition try to match your earlier effort doesn't always pan out. It didn't tonight. We had to snag it in OT because we got complacent and let a solid lead slip away. The second period has been the prime example of this. In most of our games we go up in the first, Relent in the 2nd and if necessary go all out in the third. Not all of our games, but a great enough deal of them. That's all I was saying. Bah! Who can find things wrong at 11-1 anyways. Go Avs Go!

I can't help to feel sad for Downie
Gets traded from the leagues #1 team to a horrible flyers team
Then gets his lights knocked out in his 1st game and will now be sidelined with a concussion
It's almost Halloween scary how this has so quickly happened to him

Why the (frank) would you stick up for a guy who beats his wife/gf?

Seriously man, and you're proud of this?

As a sports fan, it's cool if you don't want to hate the guy, but to defend him....wow. Issues man, issues.

Probably because he allegedly beat his girlfriend, innocent until proven guilty.

......

You're right. She probably just fell on her own. Or walking into a door.
